Buckwheat is extremely adaptable to poor soils and conditions.  It is the utility hitter than you shouldn't leave on the bench.  It is an awesome soil conditioner to improve poor soil for future food plots.  Ducks, doves, turkeys, and other birds relish the seed, which is why it is commonly used in dove fields, waterfowl reservoirs, road sides, breaks.
